Job summary

WSP is seeking an experienced Full-Time Structures Inspector for our Antioch, CA office, with consideration for Roseville, San Francisco, San Jose, Oakland, and Rancho Cordova locations. The role involves bridge and highway structure inspections and construction management duties following Caltrans manuals and standards.

You will support inspections, review submittals, perform calculations, prepare change orders, and sample/test materials to ensure contract compliance and safety across projects.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma.
• Minimum of 5 years of post-education experience in structural construction inspection.
• Knowledge of stress analysis, structural mechanics, and strength of materials.
• Understanding of Caltrans practices and procedures.
• Valid state driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Assist in inspections to ensure conformance with contract plans, specs, and provisions on bridges, foundations, walls, falsework and shoring.
• Review falsework, shoring, demolition plans and concrete mix designs as required by contract documents.
• Make grade, alignment, quantity, falsework and shoring calculations.
• Assist in preparing contract change orders and responses to RFIs, contract estimates and progress pay estimates.
• Sampling and testing of construction materials to monitor compliance with contract specs and Caltrans QA program.
• Adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and safety policies; handle project needs as required.
