Job summary

WSP is seeking a Full-Time Structures Inspector for our Antioch, CA office, with consideration for Roseville, San Francisco, San Jose, Oakland, and Rancho Cordova locations. You will perform bridge and highway inspections and construction management tasks per Caltrans standards.

Responsibilities include reviewing plans, calculating grades and quantities, and supporting contract change orders. A valid CA driver’s license and a focus on safety are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• 5+ years of structural construction inspection experience.
• Knowledge of stress analysis, structural mechanics, and materials.
• Understanding of Caltrans practices and procedures.
• Knowledge of highway bridge construction materials including concrete.
• Experience with pile driving, bridge deck construction, and falsework/shoring.
• Ability to work independently and troubleshoot field and office issues.
• Valid state driver’s license.
• Commitment to safety and company policies.

Responsibilities

• Assist inspections to ensure compliance with contract plans and specs on bridges, foundations, and related structures.
• Review falsework, shoring, demolition plans, and concrete mix designs.
• Perform grade, alignment, quantity, and falsework calculations.
• Assist in preparing contract change orders and RFIs, estimates and reports.
• Sample and test construction materials per QA guidelines.
• Adhere to Caltrans manuals and project requirements.
• Support project team with additional duties as needed.
