TRC Companies, Inc. is seeking an initiative-taking Senior Bridge Engineer to join our transportation practice in Baton Rouge, LA.

The ideal candidate will have experience with LA DOTD bridge projects and collaborate with engineers, project managers, and staff on planning, design, and oversight of bridge projects. The role involves inspecting, load rating, and designing bridges for new construction and rehabilitation, mentoring junior staff, and delivering QA/QC on calculations and drawings in a

Qualifications

• BS or MS degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• 10 or more years of Bridge Design, Bridge Rehabilitation Design, Inspection, and Load Rating experience.
• Professional Engineer certification (P.E.) is required.
• Experience with complex software such as MDX, MIDAS, LUSAS, AASHTO Ware, Bentley Bridge Design Software (Open Bridge and LEAP), LARSA is preferred.
• Working knowledge of MicroStation and MS Office tools.

Responsibilities

• Participates in the design of new bridges as well as bridges to be rehabilitated.
• Participate in the production of project plans, specifications, reports and cost estimates.
• Be involved in all project aspects including inspection/load-rating/design, site/field visits during construction, shop drawing review, and be able to work independently.
• Efficiently produce quality deliverables while meeting budget and schedules on multiple concurrent projects.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees.
• Ability to supervise and mentor entry level staff and be responsible for entry level staff tasks.
• Provide QA/QC on design calculations, design plans, inspection reports, load rating calculations and reports.
