Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Bridge Design Project Engineer IV for offices in Baton Rouge or New Orleans, LA. The role covers transportation structure design analysis, plan preparation, and project work across the Western U.S., with growth toward project management and professional development.

Responsibilities include serving as a senior technical advisor, developing procedures, reviewing deliverables, and contributing to budgets and schedules.

Qualifications

• BA/BS + 6 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
• Louisiana PE licensure.
• Ability to pass MVR check.
• Master of Science in Civil/Structural Engineering degree; SE highly preferred.
• 8+ years of La.DOT bridge design project experience.
• Proficiency in industry standard software (e.g., Civil3D, Microstation, LEAP Bridge Concrete, MDX, CSiBridge, STAAD, AASHTOWare).
• Experience in plan production of transportation structures (bridges, culverts, retaining walls).
• Excellent communication skills, including technical report writing.
• Strong structural problem analysis skills and knowledge of applicable codes and engineering practices.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a senior technical advisor, providing specialized input for studies and designs in the area of expertise.
• Develop and implement study and design procedures to ensure high-quality, cost-effective work.
• Perform interdisciplinary review of project deliverables and quality control of design calculations and drawings.
• Develop construction cost estimates and technical specifications.
• Contribute to engineering budgets and schedules to meet project requirements.
