Job summary

Qualifications

• PE license in Connecticut.
• 5+ years in bridge engineering or transportation structures.
• Strong background in bridge design, rehabilitation, and structural analysis.
• Experience with STAAD, SAP2000, CSI software, AASHTOWare BrR, AutoCAD, OpenBridge Modeler.
• Knowledge of AASHTO, AISC, ASCE, ACI, CTDOT Digital Design Environment.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering (Master's preferred).

Responsibilities

• Lead structural design and delivery of bridge engineering projects from concept through final design.
• Design new bridges and rehabilitation solutions for existing transportation structures.
• Perform structural analysis, design calculations, and prepare construction documents.
• Complete bridge load rating analysis using AASHTOWare BrR.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary transportation teams throughout project delivery.
• Review shop drawings, engineering calculations, and technical submissions.
• Conduct site visits to verify existing conditions and resolve construction issues.
• Respond to RFIs and provide technical support during construction.
• Mentor junior engineers and support their technical development.
• Assist with project planning, budgeting, scheduling, staffing, and quality management.
• Build strong relationships with clients and help ensure successful project delivery.
