Job summary

Weston & Sampson seeks a Senior Bridge Engineer to lead design and delivery of major bridge projects in New England with a focus on Connecticut CTDOT standards and local requirements. The role supports mentoring of junior staff and collaboration with project managers to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil or structural engineering; master's preferred.
• PE license in CT or ability to obtain licensure is typically required.
• 12-20 years of progressive structural/bridge design experience with CTDOT knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Manage and lead bridge design projects from concept through construction.
• Oversee technical design teams, ensuring compliance with AASHTO, DOT, and local standards.
• Collaborate with Project Managers to manage client relationships and drive delivery.
• Review and assist with structural calculations, plans, and specifications.
• Lead mentoring and development of junior engineers.
• Support proposal development and business growth through technical leadership.
