Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to join our Bridges and Structures team, servicing state and municipal clients in Maine and New Hampshire. The role is based out of Portland, ME or Auburn, NH as part of a New England design group, with opportunities to collaborate across the U.S.

and Canada. The successful candidate will lead bridge design projects, develop design plans and specifications, check calculations, mentor staff, and engage with clients and agencies to meet project

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering is required.
• Master degree in Structural Engineering is preferred.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) is required for the role.
• Minimum of 12 years of bridge engineering experience is expected.

Responsibilities

• Lead bridge design projects of varying size and complexity through all design phases.
• Develop design plans, specifications, and construction cost estimates.
• Prepare, check, and deliver engineering calculations, reports, and studies.
• Guide and mentor junior and intermediate staff.
• Coordinate with clients and stakeholders to determine project requirements and approvals.
• Support project pursuits and proposals as needed.
