New York City Department of Transportation seeks a Construction Project Manager 3 to oversee bridge capital design and construction within the Roadway Bridges group. This role directs reconstruction/rehabilitation projects, reviews contracts, and coordinates with NYCDOT and external agencies to ensure engineering coordination on joint projects.
Field meetings to resolve issues and proactive risk management are essential.
Serve as Construction Project Manager in the Bureau of Capital Design and Construction in the Division of Bridges. The selected candidate will work on bridge capital construction projects in the Roadway Bridges group. Direct all functions pertaining to the reconstruction and/or rehabilitation of the city's bridges and related structures. Oversee the review of all contract documents, reports and planning scheduling of the contract work. Direct the preparation of scopes and specifications for construction contracts. Serve as liaison to outside agencies and offices including NYCDOT to ensure the proper engineering coordination and review of joint projects. May lead a variety of tasks requiring the ability to multitask and work in a multidisciplinary environment. Attend meetings in the field or coordinate with contractors or other field personnel to resolve issues that may arise during the construction are required. Manage project schedule. Utilize the Contract & Project Management System (CPMS) for rating approval, process invoices. Analysis and management of risks and issues. Use PASSPort to process contract change requests. Check in FMS 2 and FMS3 to ensure the projects have sufficient funds. Update project schedule in PWA. Manage and resolve project issues. Take a proactive approach to project risk management. Perform other related duties.

Driver License Requirement: At the time of appointment to this position, you must have a motor vehicle driver license valid in the State of New York. If you have moving violations, license suspension or an accident record, you may be disqualified. This license must be maintained for the duration of your employment.
Ability to communicate effectively in verbal and written form. Knowledge of current civil engineering design and construction practices and techniques. Ability to supervise in the planning, organizing, coordinating and controlling of various phases of the capital construction projects.
