Job summary

Gusto is seeking a senior brand designer to lead visual and motion craft across product launches, campaigns and digital channels from concept to delivery. You will shape brand systems and set guardrails for motion, aligning with human-centric storytelling.

You will direct AI-generated work, evaluate it for on-brand quality, and partner with marketing, product and growth teams to accelerate ideas while maintaining consistency across all outputs.

Qualifications

• Six+ years of brand/visual or motion design experience in in-house studios, agencies or content teams.
• Portfolio covering brand identity, product marketing, campaigns and digital content, with notes on AI usage.
• Strong design instincts across typography, color, composition and motion direction.
• Expert motion design with Figma, Adobe CC, Cavalry, Rive and Lottie.
• Clear view on directing AI in creative work and maintaining quality standards.
• Ability to move between large brand projects and fast executional work.
• Strong collaboration across creative, production, marketing and product teams.
• Maker mindset focused on improving how work gets made.
• Preferred: experience creating standards for AI-assisted production (guardrails, evaluation criteria, workflows).

Responsibilities

• Designing visual and motion work for product launches, education, campaigns, events and digital channels
• Building and evolving brand systems, including motion guidelines, templates and guardrails
• Integrating motion into the brand design process with principles and animation patterns
• Directing and evaluating AI-generated creative work, deciding what is on-brand and what should not ship
• Using AI tools to speed up concept-to-execution and raise quality
• Collaborating with creatives and with marketing, product and growth partners
• Creating repeatable templates and workflows that speed up delivery without lowering quality
• Maintaining brand consistency across all deliverables, including AI-assisted work
