Job description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, which manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Brand Manager based in the United States.

As Senior Brand Manager, you will help accelerate brand growth while leading product innovation from early-stage concepts through commercialization and launch. You will shape brand strategy, support annual and long-term planning, and turn consumer insights and market data into actionable growth opportunities. Working across Marketing, Sales, Research and Development, Regulatory, Quality, and external agency partners, you will bring new products to market while strengthening the existing portfolio. You will use category analytics, consumer research, and competitive intelligence to identify opportunities, refine positioning, and improve product performance. This role combines strategic thinking with hands-on project leadership, requiring the ability to manage complex timelines, budgets, packaging development, and cross-functional priorities. Join a fast-growing, mission-driven food brand where you can bring established consumer packaged goods (CPG) expertise to an evolving business and help shape its next stage of growth.

Accountabilities
  • Drive brand strategy and growth: Support the development and execution of annual brand plans and long-range strategies that increase product distribution, sales velocity, brand awareness, and overall portfolio performance while balancing core business growth with innovation.
  • Lead product innovation from concept to launch: Manage the end-to-end innovation process, including consumer insights, concept development and testing, product development, packaging, commercialization, and go-to-market execution in partnership with Research and Development and cross-functional teams.
  • Build scalable innovation processes: Help design and implement structured stage-gate processes that support business growth, establish clear decision points, and improve innovation execution. Develop and manage project timelines, milestones, dependencies, and deliverables.
  • Analyze market and consumption data: Use SPINS and/or Nielsen data to evaluate sales velocity, distribution, market share, pricing, and performance across existing products and new launches. Translate findings into clear strategic recommendations for growth, renovation, and innovation.
  • Identify market opportunities: Monitor category developments, competitor activity, emerging trends, and consumer preferences to uncover opportunities for portfolio expansion, product improvement, and differentiation.
  • Lead consumer research and insight development: Plan and execute research initiatives, including concept testing, claims testing, consumer feedback analysis, social listening, review monitoring, and in-store observations, to inform brand positioning and product development.
  • Partner with Sales on commercial execution: Collaborate with Sales teams throughout planning and launch activities, developing compelling product narratives, customer sell-in presentations, and sales enablement materials for both existing and new products.
  • Oversee packaging development: Lead packaging projects and refreshes across the core portfolio and new products. Coordinate with Regulatory, Quality, and Research and Development teams to ensure product claims are accurate, substantiated, and compliant with applicable labeling requirements.
  • Manage budgets and return on investment: Support marketing leadership in managing brand expenditures, monitoring project budgets, evaluating campaign and innovation investment, and tracking return on investment.
  • Coordinate cross-functional stakeholders: Align internal teams and external agency partners around brand priorities, product requirements, project schedules, and launch objectives to ensure high-quality execution.
  • Balance strategy with execution: Translate high-level brand objectives into actionable plans while maintaining close attention to operational details, project progress, and commercial outcomes.
Requirements
  • Brand management experience: Six to eight years of brand management experience, ideally combining formal training in consumer packaged goods marketing with experience at both established and emerging food or beverage brands.
  • Innovation and commercialization expertise: Demonstrated success managing both existing product portfolios and new product innovation, including launching products at scale.
  • Stage-gate project leadership: Hands-on experience managing structured innovation processes and leading projects with Research and Development from consumer insight and concept testing through product development and launch.
  • Product development knowledge: Working technical understanding of product development and the ability to collaborate effectively with research, technical, and commercial stakeholders.
  • Consumer insights and positioning: Strong skills in consumer research, brand positioning, concept evaluation, and translating consumer needs into compelling product propositions.
  • Market analytics proficiency: Fluency with SPINS and/or Nielsen data, with the ability to interpret distribution, velocity, share, and pricing trends and turn complex data into clear recommendations.
  • Financial and commercial acumen: Strong understanding of profit and loss (P&L), budget management, brand spending, and return-on-investment measurement.
  • Packaging and regulatory knowledge: Experience managing packaging development and a working understanding of food labeling requirements and product claims regulations.
  • Strategic and operational capability: Ability to develop a strategic direction while managing the detailed execution required to deliver multiple projects on time and to a high standard.
  • Cross-functional collaboration: Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work effectively with Sales, Marketing, Research and Development, Regulatory, Quality, and external agency partners.
  • Ownership and autonomy: A proactive, accountable approach to work, with the ability to make decisions independently while remaining collaborative and aligned with broader business objectives.
  • Organization and project management: Excellent attention to detail, prioritization, and time management skills, including the ability to manage several innovation and brand initiatives simultaneously.
  • Remote work experience: Experience working successfully in a fully remote environment, maintaining communication, accountability, and productivity across distributed teams.
