Job summary

Vercel is seeking a Brand Designer on the Core team to shape the brand language that powers Next.js, AI SDK, and other platform products. You will craft systems, experiences, and defining moments that scale from web to 3D, across product launches, campaigns, and events.

You will prototype with HTML/CSS/JS and AI-assisted tools, collaborating across engineering, marketing, product design, and leadership to align on strategy and ship cohesive work.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in brand, marketing, or visual design at a SaaS or fast-growing tech company.
• Portfolio showing systems thinking and execution across mediums, and ability to productionize work.
• Exceptional typography and layout skills with attention to spacing, hierarchy, rhythm and alignment.
• Deep understanding of visual storytelling, brand systems, and digital experiences.
• Use of AI throughout process for exploration, prototyping, automation, and writing front-end code.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted coding tools to build working prototypes.
• Solid knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for refining AI-generated code.
• Comfortable shipping functional prototypes and working across conceptual and production stages.
• Understanding brand in product and digital experiences, not just marketing campaigns.

Responsibilities

• Lead design across key brand moments—product launches, campaigns, events, internal initiatives.
• Evolve visual identity elements: typography, color, composition, iconography, imagery, motion.
• Design across mediums: web, motion, 3D, social, print, swag, environments.
• Move between Figma and code to prototype independently using HTML/CSS/JS and AI tools.
• Build and evolve a scalable brand system translated into tools, templates, assets.
• Work hands-on from concept through production, preparing files and assets for implementation.
• Decide when motion, 3D, or code strengthens ideas versus simpler executions.
• Establish a shared visual language across product, marketing, and internal comms.
• Collaborate with design engineers to refine prototypes into high-quality experiences.
• Coordinate with engineering, marketing, product design, and leadership on strategy and cohesion.
• Direct external studios and freelancers when needed for execution.
• Present and defend creative decisions aligning with brand, product, audience, and business goals.
