Job summary

TJFACT seeks a Border Security Advisor to support the Department of State INL at the U.S. Embassy in Quito, Ecuador.

The role requires strategic leadership and engagement with senior host-nation officials to stand up and enhance border control capabilities. Responsibilities include coordinating across law enforcement, military, and customs agencies, guiding program design and implementation, and managing complex multi-project efforts while briefing senior leadership and supporting official

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or 18 years of professional law enforcement experience can substitute.
• Experience briefing senior-level leadership on programmatic matters.
• Extensive overseas embassy experience strongly preferred.
• Strong written and spoken English; Spanish proficiency at level 3/3.

Responsibilities

• Engage GOE officials to advance border security policies and interagency alignment.
• Provide strategic oversight coordinating law enforcement, military, and migration authorities.
• Lead interagency border security program development and implementation.
• Provide SME in program planning, design, and technical assistance.
• Prepare documentation for procurement and support official visits.
