Job summary

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) – Border Patrol seeks reemployed annuitants for a GS-13 position. This term appointment is designed for retired border agents returning to duty to protect borders and enforce laws.

Salary starts at $109,383 (GS-13, Step 1) and goes to $142,199 (GS-13, Step 10). Eligible retirees may receive dual compensation waivers, expedited pre-employment processing, and accelerated re-entry training; duty locations include multiple USBP sectors with placement

Qualifications

• US Citizen at time of application.
• Must pass a background investigation.
• Must be proficient in the Spanish language.

Responsibilities

• Reemployed annuitants serve as Border Patrol Agents protecting U.S. borders and enforcing immigration laws.
• Detect and apprehend unlawful noncitizens and smugglers near borders or in transit.
• Operate under rotating shifts and use a variety of Government assets to perform patrol duties.
• Complete accelerated re-entry training and may benefit from a salary offset waiver.
