Job summary

UCC Environmental in the United States (headquartered in Waukegan, IL) seeks a seasoned Sales Engineer/Estimator to lead proposals for Balance of Plant and Construction projects within utility and industrial markets. You will collaborate with field sales, engineering partners, and contractors to define scope, develop cost estimates, and win opportunities.

A BS in Engineering or Construction Management is required, with 7+ years in engineering/construction and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• BS in engineering/ Construction Management is required.
• Minimum 7+ years in engineering/construction in utility/industrial power sectors.
• 5+ years experience with construction means and methods for value engineering.
• Technical writing or proposal development experience.
• Broad experience with contract execution disciplines and a track record of success.
• General business acumen.

Responsibilities

• Develop proposals and close sales for Construction and Balance of Plant opportunities.
• Submit opportunities in the proposal database and maintain forecasts.
• Lead technical estimates and define scope for assigned proposals.
• Aim to achieve annual contract bookings, revenue, and margin targets.
• Contribute to annual Sales Plan and align with industry expectations.
• Collaborate to ensure internal processes align with customer expectations.
• Train and develop UCC’s Sales Engineering staff in BOP best practices.
• Attend sales calls with Field Sales to drive value and close orders.
• Build relationships with customers, engineering partners, and contractors.

Education

Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil) or Construction Management/Technology

Strong organizational skills

Excellent communication and presentation skills

Motivated with focus on results

Leadership with technical mentoring

Willingness to travel 50%+
