Job summary

Helsing, based in Washington, DC, seeks a BOM owner who will act as the single source of truth for product structure across programs, revisions, and configurations. You will bridge design engineering, procurement, quality, and manufacturing to convert CAD assemblies and engineering intent into an auditable, buildable BOM standard.

You will define and maintain the data model, monitor mass and cost per line, and drive ECO/ECN processes to ensure readiness.

Qualifications

• Experience owning BOMs for complex electromechanical hardware.
• Practical fluency with PLM/ERP systems and data structuring.
• Strong change management, revision, and configuration control.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings and CAD assemblies.

Responsibilities

• Maintain single source of truth for product structure across programs.
• Track as-designed and as-built mass; surface variances early.
• Maintain cost per line and roll up to assembly and unit cost.
• Record country of origin and manufacturer; flag risks.
• Define status model: Engineering released, Sourced, On order, EDD.
• Trigger manufacturing readiness based on cleared inputs.
• Manage ECO/ECN processes and data model improvements.
• Provide leadership with current build readiness and blockers.
