Job summary

Helsing GmbH seeks a hands-on BOM owner who can turn CAD assemblies into auditable, buildable data structures. You will own the BOM across products, defining data representations and ensuring accuracy of mass, cost, origin, and supplier information.

You will collaborate with design, procurement, quality and manufacturing to maintain a single source of truth, track variance, manage ECO/ECN changes, and drive PLM/ERP data-model improvements so the organization can scale production and manage risk.

Qualifications

• Significant experience owning BOMs for complex electromechanical hardware in fast-moving environments (aerospace/defense/robotics/space/consumer hardware).
• Deep fluency with PLM and ERP systems (ION, Windchill, Teamcenter, Arena, Duro, Odoo, SAP, NetSuite) and how product data should be structured.
• Strong knowledge of engineering change management, revision and configuration control, and effectivity.
• Comfortable reading mechanical drawings and CAD assemblies; able to challenge engineers on releases.
• Experience coordinating with procurement and suppliers on lead times, quotes, origin and qualification.
• Highly numerate and systematic; adept at automation (scripting, SQL, Python).
• Exceptionally organized, proactive, and capable of driving accountability.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a single, trusted source of truth for product structure across all programs and configurations.
• Track as‑designed and as‑built mass at line, assembly and system level; surface variance and enable action.
• Maintain target, quoted and actual cost per line; roll up to assembly and unit cost; monitor drift against targets.
• Record and verify country of origin and manufacturer; flag ITAR/EAR and supply-chain risks.
• Define and maintain the status model (Engineering released, Sourced, On order, EDD).
• Manage ECO/ECN process; assess impact on mass, cost, schedule and inventory.
• Define and improve PLM/ERP data model and tooling for BOM health visibility.
• Provide leadership with clear view of build readiness, long-lead exposure, cost and mass; identify blockers.
