Job summary

Alliant Energy is seeking a Senior Engineer Generation (Boiler) or a Senior Generation Equipment Specialist to lead high‑impact projects on coal boiler systems within a combined cycle facility. You will oversee complex repairs, coordinate inspections, and manage energy piping repairs while ensuring safety and compliance standards.

You will work cross‑functionally with maintenance and operations teams, manage budgets, and mentor junior staff in a fast‑paced energy environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in an engineering program (ABET accredited) for Sr. Engineer Generation (Boiler) with 7 years of related experience.
• Bachelor's Degree preferred for Senior Generation Equipment Specialist with 10 years in relevant steam/gas turbine and boiler maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex assignments requiring in-depth analysis and safe problem solving.
• Identify problems and propose safe, cost-conscious solutions.
• Manage projects, budgets and contractors; coordinate inspections and repairs.
• Plan boiler tube reduction programs and energy piping maintenance.
• Prepare technical studies and project documentation for future reference.
