Job summary

Alliant Energy seeks a Senior Engineer Generation (Boiler) or Senior Generation Equipment Specialist to maintain and enhance coal boiler systems in a combined cycle facility. You will manage complex repairs, coordinate inspections, and lead safety and project execution with cross‑functional teams.

The role blends technical challenge with hands‑on leadership, overseeing budgets and vendor relations while ensuring reliable, safe energy production for customers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in an engineering program from an accredited institution.
• 7+ years of related experience for Sr. Engineer Generation (Boiler).
• 10+ years of experience related to Steam/Combustion Turbine and Boiler maintenance for Senior Generation Equipment Specialist.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex boiler system improvements and maintenance planning.
• Manage contracts, oversee repairs, and ensure safety and compliance.
• Develop cost‑effective, technically sound solutions and document studies.
• Coordinate inspections, energy piping repairs, and outage support.
• Mentor newer staff and guide cross‑functional teams.
• Prepare detailed project documentation and monitor budgets.
