Job summary

Rivian Automotive in Illinois seeks an experienced engineer to lead the design and implementation of body assembly processes, equipment, and production lines for new and existing products. You will collaborate with product design, integrators, and Rivian Operations to ensure manufacturability, ramp reliability, and smooth handover.

You will drive safety, quality, cost, timing, and throughput targets, provide regular updates, and contribute to a high-precision engineering culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or similar technical field.
• 7-10 years in an engineering role related to automated manufacturing equipment and process.
• Knowledgeable in high/low volume manufacturing concepts (cycle time, quality, ROI).
• Demonstrated ability to solve complex technical problems to a high level of accuracy.
• Ability to work independently with general guidance to deliver results.
• Team player across cross-functional disciplines and external stakeholders.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience in 2D & 3D CAD environments.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement body manufacturing processes & equipment to grow production capacity.
• Partner with production engineers and leaders to ensure ramp and long-term production.
• Provide product feedback to design teams to ensure manufacturability.
• Ensure safety, quality, cost, timing & throughput targets on all projects.
• Provide regular, metric-based project updates to management.
• Follow standards and best practices in project implementation.
• Add value beyond assigned scope of work.
• Challenge assumptions with engineering evaluation.
• Be part of a world-class engineering team delivering rapid deployments.
