Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a BMET III who provides technical guidance and mentors technicians, leads components of equipment implementations, and collaborates with Clinical Engineering, vendors and clinical departments to support lifecycle management of healthcare technology.

In this senior technical role, you work primarily as an individual contributor, diagnosing and repairing complex medical equipment, performing preventive maintenance, and supporting patient-safety initiatives

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent in Biomedical Equipment Technology or related field.
• Five+ years of progressively responsible biomedical equipment service experience.
• Advanced troubleshooting and problem-solving across high-risk medical equipment.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, calibrate complex medical equipment.
• Conduct preventive maintenance, safety testing, and inspections per standards.
• Serve as escalation point, mentoring others and sharing knowledge.
• Lead equipment installations and technology implementations with stakeholders.
• Analyze failures and recommend maintenance strategies and improvements.
• Develop procedures, guides, and standard work for assigned tech areas.
• Coordinate with manufacturers and vendors for advanced issues.
• Support quality, regulatory, recalls, and patient-safety activities.
• Maintain CMMS records and assist with inventory data.
• Provide education and training on technologies.
• Participate in on-call and emergency responses.
• Pursue continuing education and certifications.
