Job summary

Guardant Health, Inc. in Palo Alto is seeking a Senior Planner to own supply chain planning for assigned product lines in a fast-scaling biotech environment.

You will drive forecast accuracy, manage material requirements end-to-end, and lead continuous improvement in planning, scrap reduction, and product launch execution. This role requires an experienced planner who partners with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality and Finance to ensure material availability, optimize inventory, and support

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required.
• 5-8 years in supply chain planning, operations, or material management.
• Experience with end-of-life management, scrap reduction, or product lifecycle management.
• Track record leading successful product launches or new product introductions.
• Experience with MRP systems (Oracle, SAP, or equivalent) and manufacturing or biotech environments.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to work independently without constant supervision.
• Excel proficiency; familiarity with BI tools (Tableau, Power BI) preferred.
• Clear written and verbal communication; metrics-driven mindset in regulated environments (GMP/GDP).

Responsibilities

• Plan, forecast, and manage requirements for assigned product lines.
• Own MRP and drive forecast accuracy improvement (target 85%+).
• Identify forecast variance issues and propose corrective actions and root causes.
• Forecast material shortages and supply chain risks 6-8 weeks ahead; maintain mitigation plans.
• Create and manage material purchasing timelines aligned to manufacturing schedules.
• Lead end-of-life planning and scrap reduction; liquidate excess inventory where possible.
• Coordinate with Engineering, Quality, and Warehouse on material staging and readiness for launches.
• Drive process improvements to balance inventory security and carrying costs.
