Job summary

Amgen Inc. (IR) seeks a Senior Counsel for Intellectual Property Litigation to lead all aspects of U.S. and international patent disputes, working with outside counsel and in-house teams. The role involves witness interviews, discovery, motions, and trial prep, with 15–20% travel anticipated.

The ideal candidate has a J.D. or LL.M., U.S. bar admission, and 4+ years of IP litigation experience, with preferred biotech-related matter exposure. Remote work within the U.S. is possible.

Qualifications

• J.D. or LL.M. from an accredited law school, admission to practice in a U.S. jurisdiction, and four years of IP law experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support U.S. and international patent disputes from filing to resolution.
• Develop and drive case strategies in collaboration with outside counsel and in-house teams.
• Conduct witness interviews, manage discovery, draft motions and briefs, and assist trial preparation.
• Provide IP strategy guidance across Amgen’s business and research activities.
