Job summary

Amgen is seeking a Senior Counsel in Biotech Patent Law to develop and execute a global IP strategy for Amgen's therapeutic products and candidates. You will draft, file, and prosecute patent applications worldwide, conduct prior art searches, and advise across R&D and business teams.

The role involves IP due diligence for transactions, drafting IP provisions in various agreements, and supporting litigation and patent proceedings, with remote work options within the United States.

Qualifications

• J.D. or LL.M. from an accredited law school and admission to practice in a U.S. jurisdiction.
• Registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
• Six or more years of patent/IP law experience in biopharma or life sciences.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and execute a global IP strategy for Amgen's therapeutic products and candidates.
• Draft, file, and prosecute patent applications worldwide; conduct prior art searches.
• Perform IP due diligence in support of transactions and draft/negotiate IP provisions in agreements.
• Provide legal advice to R&D and Business partners on IP matters; support litigation and PTAB/oppotions matters.
