Job summary

PATH is seeking a Senior Statistician to lead statistical activities for OPV/nOPV vaccine trials, spanning Phase 1–3, with an initial focus on oral poliovirus vaccines. The role requires strong biostatistics expertise, experience with vaccine studies, and oversight of external CROs.

You will design analyses, develop SAPs, analyze trial data, and contribute to reports and regulatory submissions, while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and traveling up to 10–15% as needed.

Qualifications

• Master or Doctoral degree in biostatistics, statistics, or a related scientific discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Five or more years of experience supporting clinical research, including presenting results to external stakeholders and funders.
• Advanced knowledge of biostatistics and clinical trial methodology.
• Experience supporting vaccine clinical trials preferred; polio or enteric vaccine studies a plus.
• Strong knowledge of statistical software programming with SAS and R.
• Ability to support US as well as international trials.
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize across projects.
• Ability to clearly communicate statistical concepts to scientists and non-scientists.
• Must have legal authorization to work in PATH country locations; fully remote candidates considered.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a study statistician for Phase 1–3 OPV/nOPV trials, overseeing statistical activities across all phases.
• Lead or contribute to statistical design, including sample size, randomization, and DSMB support.
• Develop or review SAS/R analysis plans and interpret trial data for reports and manuscripts.
• Provide statistical support to CVIA broader clinical development programs to ensure rigorous conclusions on efficacy and safety.
• Contribute to protocols, CSRs, and other study documents to ensure proper data collection and statistical representation.
• Serve as primary statistical liaison with CRO partners, reviewing analysis specs and outputs.
