Westat, Inc. in Bethesda, MD seeks a Principal Statistical Associate - Biostatistician to lead statistical analyses on clinical trials and epidemiologic studies.

You will collaborate with sponsors and internal teams, design cutting-edge analyses, and ensure robust, well-documented results. The role requires a PhD in Biostatistics with 5 years post-doc experience, strong experience in Bayesian methods, and proficiency in R and SAS.

Qualifications

• PhD in Biostatistics or related field, 5 years post-doctoral experience including 1–2 years in clinical trials.
• Experience in health research, advanced data analysis, and analyzing research data with statistical packages.
• Experience with R, SAS, and other statistical packages.

Responsibilities

• Lead, support, and collaborate on study protocol development and statistical methodology with emphasis on Bayesian methods.
• Develop study aims and hypotheses and assess feasibility.
• Estimate optimal sample size for desired power within resource limits.
• Develop statistical plans and analysis methods for study protocols.
• Oversee analytical programming, data management, and quality control of results.
• Conduct statistical analysis for trials and epidemiologic projects and present results.
• Present analytic results to clients and collaborators with context and literature references.
