Job summary

Markent Personnel in Huntsville, AL is seeking a Senior BIOS / UEFI Engineer for new product development. You will start from AMI/Intel reference BIOS and customize it for rugged embedded platforms, owning the BIOS design from board bring-up to production.

Collaborate with hardware, FPGA, IPMC, and software teams to solve complex hardware–firmware issues and ensure interfaces such as USB, PCIe, and SATA function correctly.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on BIOS development experience.
• Strong experience developing UEFI BIOS; modern UEFI experience required.
• Experience bringing up BIOS on newly designed hardware.
• Strong proficiency in C.
• Ability to work with hardware engineers and diagnose hardware/firmware issues.
• Willingness to work full-time on-site in Huntsville, Alabama.

Responsibilities

• Develop and customize UEFI BIOS for new rugged embedded products.
• Perform BIOS bring-up on newly designed boards.
• Debug hardware/firmware issues during initial startup.
• Collaborate with hardware, FPGA, IPMC, and software engineers to validate systems.
• Support interfaces such as USB, PCIe, SATA and other board-level functionality.
• Take BIOS development from initial bring-up through production.
