Job summary

Hewlett Packard Enterprise in the United States is seeking an SW Embedded BIOS Engineer to join our HPC and server teams onsite. You will work across BIOS, hardware, OS, and validation to enable complex platform bring-up and firmware development.

The role emphasizes reliability, performance, and hardware integration; you will design BIOS enhancements, run tests, collaborate with vendors, and mentor junior engineers.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent.
Minimum 5 years BIOS development experience.
Proficient with C and C++ in firmware development.
Experience with BIOS across processor families and UEFI.
Experience with Linux development environments and debugging workflows.
Excellent English communication skills.

Responsibilities

Designs, develops, and maintains BIOS enhancements for server and HPC platforms.
Assesses design, coding, integration and validation activities based on goals.
Writes and executes test plans and debugging for firmware issues.
Leads or coordinates project work with engineers and vendors.
Mentors less-experienced staff and communicates status to management.
Represents software systems engineering through BIOS and platform-firmware programs.
