Job summary

Boston Medical Center is seeking a Senior Biomedical Equipment Technician to manage electrical safety testing, calibration, troubleshooting, and emergency repairs for critical care and laboratory instrumentation in the Clinical Engineering department.

You will participate in on-call rotations, maintain equipment inventories, and support off-site locations, with a strong emphasis on safety, regulatory compliance, and accurate record-keeping.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related engineering field or 4+ years of biomedicalInstrumentation repair experience.
• AAMI certification preferred.
• 7+ years of relatable hospital experience or recommendation by Director of Clinical Engineering.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoots critical care instrumentation in use and diagnoses failures.
• Conducts electrical safety testing and inspections on equipment under Clinical Engineering and Health & Hospitals.
• Provides periodic calibration to ensure proper operation.
• Conducts complete performance testing and maintenance procedures.
• Performs emergency and routine repairs on instrumentation.
• Maintains equipment inventory and repair data.
• Participates in on-call rotation covering nights, weekends and holidays.
• Attends hospital committees as directed by manager or team lead.
• Ensures equipment is properly maintained and safe.
