Job summary

Capital i seeks a Biomedical Equipment Technician III to lead maintenance and calibration of a wide range of medical devices at the Grand Junction VA Medical Center. You will troubleshoot complex equipment, mentor junior BMETs, and ensure compliance with VA regulations and industry standards.

Responsibilities include documenting actions, testing equipment, and supporting installation and lifecycle management. Strong knowledge of FDA, Joint Commission, and ISO requirements is essential.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher in biomedical equipment technology or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of hospital/healthcare equipment maintenance experience.
• Experience in a Biomedical Engineering department or healthcare technology management environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams).
• Experience with CMMS and asset-specific software.
• Knowledge of regulatory, accreditation and industry standards (FDA, Joint Commission, ISO, AAMI).
• Familiarity with biomedical test equipment for inspection, calibration, repair.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance, calibration, and repairs on medical equipment.
• Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions using manuals and schematics.
• Document service actions per regulatory VA policies.
• Conduct safety inspections and performance testing.
• Support installation and lifecycle management of devices.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior BMETs.
