Job summary

UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas seeks a researcher/software engineer to analyze and develop algorithms and software for clinical and basic research problems, including data acquisition, management, and analysis for translational and clinical studies.

The role involves overseeing development, testing, and revision of programs in a diverse bioinformatics team, training users, and contributing to biomedical research software infrastructure.

Qualifications

• PhD or MS with relevant data analysis/software development experience.
• Experience in bioinformatics or biomedical data is preferred.
• Ability to train users and collaborate in a multi-disciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Analyzes and develops formalisms, algorithms and software for biomedical research.
• Develops and maintains software tools and infrastructure for resolving problems.
• Oversees development, testing and revision of programs with a diverse team.
• Trains users and personnel in analyzing and resolving computational problems.
