Responsibilities
- Analyze and build formalisms, algorithms, and software for applications in biomedical research
- Develop and maintain software tools and infrastructure to address defined research problems
- Oversee the development, testing, and revision of team programs in collaboration with diverse bioinformatics expertise
- Train users and other personnel on how to analyze, define, and resolve computational problems
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Provide oversight for analysis and development of algorithms and software for clinical and/or basic research problems
- Oversee and participate in programs that impact data acquisition, data management, and data analysis across basic, translational, and clinical research, including clinical trials
Requirements
- PhD in Computer Science, Bioinformatics, (Bio)mathematics, (Bio)statistics, Physics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, or
- Master’s (M.S.) in Computer Science, Bioinformatics, (Bio)mathematics, (Bio)statistics, Physics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, or
- Bachelor’s (B.S.) with demonstrated experience in broadly defined bioinformatics areas
- 2 years of post-graduation experience in data analysis and/or scientific software development with a PhD
- 4 years of post-graduation experience in data analysis and/or scientific software development with a Master’s
- 6 years of post-graduation experience in data analysis and/or scientific software development with a Bachelor’s
