Job summary

UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, TX is seeking a data science professional to lead algorithms and software for clinical and basic research. The role emphasizes AI/ML, NLP, LLMs, and reproducible analytic solutions on complex health data across multiple projects within the BDSC.

Experience with high-dimensional bioinformatics data and multimodal omics data is highly desirable; the team collaborates across research programs to advance clinical studies and translational research.

Qualifications

• PhD in Computer Science, Bioinformatics, or related field or
• MS in Computer Science, Bioinformatics, or related field or
• BS with demonstrated bioinformatics experience

Responsibilities

• Analyzes and develops formalisms, algorithms and software for applications in biomedical research.
• Develops and maintains software tools and infrastructure for resolving specific problems.
• Oversees the development, testing and revision of programs in a team with diverse bioinformatics expertise.
• Trains users and other personnel in analyzing, defining and resolving computational problems.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
