Quest Diagnostics Incorporated is seeking a biosinformatics scientist in a hybrid role to design and implement MRD bioinformatics pipelines and related NGS analyses for clinical testing. The position emphasizes collaboration with wet labs, R&D, and software engineers to ensure accurate, scalable patient results.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of NGS analysis experience, strong Python/R skills, and prior work in regulated clinical environments (CLIA/CAP/FDA).

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on experience analyzing NGS data.
• Experience in oncology diagnostics is preferred.
• Proficiency with bioinformatics pipeline workflow management (Nextflow preferred).
• Experience with regulated clinical or diagnostic environments (CLIA, CAP, FDA).

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize bioinformatics pipelines for MRD testing and clinical deployment.
• Analyze high-throughput NGS data to drive insights for product development.
• Collaborate with laboratory scientists, clinicians, and software engineers to integrate solutions into clinical workflows.
• Apply software engineering best practices to ensure scalable, robust pipelines.
• Document and validate bioinformatics systems per regulatory and quality standards.
• Stay current with oncology genomics and computational biology to inform product development.
• Identify problems, evaluate alternatives, and contribute to technical decisions.
• Prepare and present findings at project meetings and with customers.
