Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in commodity market research and analytics.
  • Direct experience analyzing US biofuel and feedstock fundamentals.
  • Strong knowledge of US biofuels policy (RFS/RIN, LCFS, credits).
  • Experience building and refining quantitative supply and demand models.
  • Proficient in Excel; experience with SQL/Python a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree in Economics, Energy, Agricultural Science, or related field.
  • Ability to extract insights and detect market trends.

Job description


  • Build, maintain, refine, and update comprehensive supply and demand models and price forecasts across renewable diesel, biodiesel, ethanol, SAF, and key agricultural feedstocks

  • Link agricultural desks covering oilseeds, vegetable oils, and grains with oil and middle distillates desks across the biofuels value chain

  • Track and evaluate the Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS/RINs), state low-carbon fuel standards (LCFS), federal clean fuel producer credits, crush economics, and trade dynamics

  • Produce written commentary, reports, and house views representing Kpler’s US market perspective

  • Present research in client presentations, webinars, industry conferences, and media outlets

  • Partner with data engineering and product teams to scope, prioritize, and validate scrapers and automated data pipelines powering Kpler’s supply and demand product

  • Provide analysis that builds client trust, supports product retention, and drives commercial growth across energy and agricultural sectors

  • Own and build Kpler’s fundamental supply and demand research for US biofuels and feedstocks

  • Turn complex market balances into an authoritative industry benchmark

  • Analyze policy drivers, trade flows, and crush economics shaping the US biofuels landscape


Requirements


  • 5+ years of experience in commodity market research and analytics

  • Direct experience analysing US biofuel and feedstock fundamentals

  • Strong domain knowledge of the US biofuels policy stack, including RFS/RIN, LCFS, and clean fuel producer credits

  • Knowledge of feedstock dynamics across UCO, tallow, and the soybean complex

  • Experience building, maintaining, and refining quantitative supply and demand balances and price forecasting models

  • Advanced-level use of Excel

  • Ability to extract meaningful insights and detect market trends

  • Understanding of how agricultural supply chains and energy market economics interact to drive biofuel margins

  • Bachelor's degree in Economics, Energy, Agricultural Science, or a related quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience

  • Experience with large datasets using SQL, Python, or VBA (nice-to-have)

  • Established network of US biofuel, energy, or agricultural market contacts (nice-to-have)

  • Experience in fast-paced, global, or cross-functional research environments (nice-to-have)
