Job summary

Spear Bio is seeking a Sr. Associate Bioengineer / Bioengineer, Systems Integration to lead integration of immunoassay biology with engineering subsystems on the SPEAR S.W.I.F.T. platform. Role focuses on end-to-end design, testing, and automation within a fast-growing startup.

The position is based on-site in Woburn, MA, offering opportunities to grow into SME/lead roles while mentoring junior engineers. Strong independence and problem-solving are essential.

Qualifications

• Master’s or Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering, Bioengineering, Chemical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Integrate hardware, software, reagents, and consumables into automated workflows on the SPEAR S.W.I.F.T. platform.
• Troubleshoot cross-domain issues and drive root-cause resolution across assay chemistry, liquid handling, thermal control, optics, software, and consumables.
