Job summary

Spear Bio Inc. seeks a Sr. Associate Bioengineer / Bioengineer, Systems Integration to advance the SPEAR S.W.I.F.T. platform in its Woburn, MA HQ. You will integrate subsystems, troubleshoot complex issues, and design experiments across biology, engineering, and software domains.

You will own data interpretation, DOE studies, and automation development while mentoring junior engineers and driving platform reliability and scalability.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in biomedical or systems engineering with hands-on integration experience.
• Experience driving technical work independently in a startup or fast-paced setting.
• Ability to design experiments and interpret multi‑domain data for system improvements.

Responsibilities

• Integrate hardware, software, reagents, and consumables into automated workflows.
• Troubleshoot cross‑domain issues and drive root‑cause resolution.
• Lead DOE‑based studies and design verification activities.
• Develop and automate data pipelines and QC dashboards.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to platform strategy.
