Job summary

Harris is seeking an experienced BIM/VDC Designer to support A/E design teams in Arlington, VA. The role emphasizes creating constructible design drawings and coordinating multi-disciplinary BIM/VDC workflows to ensure efficient project delivery.

The ideal candidate brings extensive experience with Revit and related Autodesk tools, and can develop 3D models up to an LOD 400 for handover to construction and fabrication teams.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in drafting/design within construction.
• 8+ years knowledge of construction methods, drawings, specs and materials.
• 8+ years experience drafting HVAC, duct, and plumbing systems.
• Proficient in Revit, AutoCAD, Autodesk Fabrication or Navisworks.

Responsibilities

• Develop BIM/VDC models and supporting drawings for design coordination.
• Lead collision detection across disciplines and coordinate with BIM-VDC teams.
• Create 3D BIM models up to an LOD 400 for handover to construction.
• Set up project drawing sets and ensure BIM/VDC processes are followed.
• Prepare models for integration with analysis tools and other software.
