Job summary
Harris is seeking an experienced BIM/CAD Drafter to produce detailed shop BIM/VDC models and drawings in Upper Marlboro, MD. You will create 3D piping, plumbing, and ductwork models compliant with codes and project documents, coordinating with other trades and ensuring quality deliverables.
The role requires 3+ years of trade apprenticeship with CAD/BIM training, 2+ years drafting in piping/plumbing, and proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks, and Autodesk tools.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of trade apprenticeship with CAD/BIM training or AEC experience with BIM/CAD training.
- 2+ years Drafting/Design in Piping, Plumbing, and/or Sheet Metal industry.
- Working knowledge of construction practices with emphasis on mechanical systems preferred.
- Proficient understanding of Revit, AutoCAD, Autodesk, Fabrication, or Navisworks.
Responsibilities
- Produce detailed constructible shop BIM/VDC models and drawings from contract documents, design criteria and instructions.
- Generate 3D models of piping, plumbing and/or ductwork systems compliant with codes and standards.
- Overlay and coordinate piping/plumbing/ductwork with other trades; communicate issues to leadership.
- Prepare final shop drawings, spool sheets/BOM, and revisions per QA/QC.
