Job summary

CDM Smith's Water Services Group is seeking an experienced Building Information Modeler to support site development and water infrastructure projects. This role focuses on developing Civil 3D models and construction plan sets across disciplines with minimal guidance.

Ideal candidates are detail-oriented, self-directed, and comfortable in a fast-paced, delivery-driven environment where modeling resources are constrained. Travel up to 10% may be required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma with vocational training in CADD drafting and modeling.
• 9 years of related experience.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
• Notable experience with Autodesk Civil 3D including alignments, surfaces, and corridors.
• Experience supporting site development projects with water infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage Civil 3D models from concept to IFC-level readiness.
• Create plan, profile, and cross-section sheets per standards.
• Produce construction-ready plan sets across multiple disciplines.
• Coordinate models with engineers and other disciplines to preserve design intent.
• Provide technical direction and review when needed; mentor junior staff.
