Job summary

Thornton Tomasetti is seeking a BIM/CAD specialist to implement and oversee BIM standards, provide Revit and CAD modeling support, and mentor staff. The role emphasizes 3D modeling, technical documentation, and collaboration with engineers and clients on projects of varying complexity.

The candidate will manage BIM execution, develop drawings from 3D models, and contribute to RFPs and BIM initiatives across multiple offices. A strong knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit is essential.

Qualifications

• Significant design experience with AutoCAD and Revit.
• Working knowledge of structural building components and construction materials.
• Excellent 3D parametric modeling skills for integrated building models.
• Proficiency in rendering and graphic formats.

Responsibilities

• Implement and support global BIM and Digital Design standards and workflows.
• Oversee BIM execution on projects, including Revit modeling, documentation, and QA/QC.
• Serve as the primary Revit contact and provide first-line technical support.
• Mentor Revit users and identify training and development needs.
• Assist with RFPs, BIM Execution Plans, and firmwide BIM initiatives.
• Create 2D CAD/3D BIM models to a high level of accuracy.
• Develop structural plans, sections, elevations and details from a 3D BIM model.
