Thornton Tomasetti is seeking a Senior BIM Modeler to support the design and documentation of complex projects. You will create 2D CAD and 3D BIM models, translate concepts into clear drawings, and produce detailed construction documents across all project phases.

The ideal candidate has 4+ years of design experience with AutoCAD and Revit, strong 3D parametric modeling skills, and familiarity with Rhino/Grasshopper/TEKLA for BIM data exchanges. NY-based pay transparency applies.

Competenze

• Associate’s Degree in Drafting & Design or equivalent experience focused in building construction.
• 4+ years of design experience with AutoCAD and Revit.
• Knowledge of structural building components, materials, printing and construction document production.
• Strong 3D parametric modeling for integrated building models.
• Rendering and graphic formats and their manipulation/output.
• Experience with Rhino, Grasshopper, TEKLA and BIM data exchanges preferred.

Your Role

We’reseeking a Senior BIM Modeler to support the design and documentation of complex projects using the latest modeling software. In this role,you’llbe responsible forcreating 3D parametric models, translating them into clear 2D drawings, and producing detailed construction documents. The ideal candidate is self-directed, technically skilled, and comfortable working across all phases of the building design process.

What You’ll Do

• Create 2D CAD/3D BIM models toa high levelof accuracy.
• Develop structural plans, sections,elevationsand details from a 3D BIM model for projects of all sizes and technical complexities.
• Convert initial concepts, sketches, or hand-drawn designs intoaccurateCAD representations.
• Work closely with structural engineers and other team members to ensureaccuraterepresentation and implementation of designs.
• Clearly annotate, dimension and detail production drawings in conformance to Thornton Tomasetti standards and practices.
• Setup, manage, and/or plot largesheetssets including revisions and markups for each project.
• Assistand direct CAD/BIM workflow.
• Set up and geo-locatemultiple models for a single project.
• Interface with engineers, our clients, and other consultants through clear communication and drawings. Interact with our clients to coordinate BIM modeling content and approaches, model exchanges, quality control, and delivery.

What You’ll Bring

• Associate’s Degreein Drafting & Design or equivalent experience focusedinbuilding construction.
• 4+ years of design experience and understanding of AutoCAD and Revit.
• Working knowledge of structural building components, structural construction materials (steel and concrete), standard construction techniques, and basic understanding of print reading and construction document production,
• Excellent understanding of 3D parametric modeling to maximize the benefits of an integrated building model.
• Excellent skills in relation torenderingand graphic formats and their manipulation and output.
• Experience in Rhino, Grasshopper, TEKLA, and data exchanges between BIM platforms is preferred.

Compensation

The rate for this position generally is$37-$53hourly.This range is a good faith estimate provided pursuant to the New York Pay Transparency Law. It is based on what a successful New York applicant might be paid and assumes that the successful candidate will be in New York or perform the position from New York. Similar positions located outside of New York will not necessarily receive the same compensation.Actual pay rates may vary from the range, as permitted byNew YorkEqual Pay Transparency Law. Compensation offers will be based on various factors, including operational needs, individual education, qualifications and experience, work location and comparison to employee already in the role, as well as other considerations permitted by law. A potential new employee’s pay history will not be used in compensation decisions.
