Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Senior BIM/CAD Coordinator with a strong background in electrical construction to join our team in Boston. You will lead 3D design, drafting, and coordination for electrical systems across diverse projects.

You will partner with project managers, field teams, and other BIM/CAD professionals to ensure models are accurate, clash-free, and construction-ready. The role offers hybrid work and career growth within a dynamic practice.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five years' experience in CAD drafting and coordination, ideally in electrical construction.
• Experience coordinating electrical construction projects using multiple design/modelling platforms.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems including panel coordination, lighting layouts, and switchgear arrangements.
• Experience with design development and construction documentation preparation.
• Understanding of clash detection, construction coordination, and resolving design conflicts.
• Familiarity with building codes and construction safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Attend and actively participate in on-site and virtual coordination meetings.
• Attend on-site co-location sessions as required by projects.
• Collaborate with other BIM/CAD Coordinators to share workloads and best practices.
• Manage and prioritize coordination schedules to meet project deadlines.
• Work with project management and electrical teams to incorporate site feedback into models.
• Produce 3D models, drawings, and designs for electrical equipment and systems.
• Monitor models for clashes and maintain accurate model files.
• Review contract documentation and submittals for coordinated items.
• Prepare shop drawings for structural mods and project changes.
• Identify opportunities for prefabrication and create models/drawings for off-site assembly.
• Maintain documentation to meet quality, code, and safety requirements.
