Qualifications

Responsibilities

Job Details

Job Title: Senior BIM/CAD Coordinator

Working Arrangement: Hybrid, with up to two days working remotely per week. Occasional travel to project sites and on-site coordination sessions will be required.

The Role

As Senior BIM/CAD Coordinator, you will be responsible for the 3D design, drafting, and coordination of electrical systems across a range of construction projects. Working closely with project managers, field teams, and other BIM/CAD professionals, you will ensure electrical installations are accurately modelled, coordinated, and ready for construction.

Key Responsibilities

• Attend and actively participate in on-site and virtual coordination meetings.
• Attend on-site co-location sessions as required by individual projects.
• Collaborate with other BIM/CAD Coordinators to share workloads, knowledge, and best practices.
• Manage and prioritize coordination schedules to ensure project deadlines are met.
• Work closely with project management teams and electrical field personnel to incorporate project requirements and site feedback into coordinated models.
• Produce 3D models, drawings, and designs for electrical equipment and systems.
• Monitor 3D models for clashes, resolve coordination issues, and maintain accurate electrical model files.
• Review contract documentation and submittals relating to coordinated items.
• Prepare shop drawings for structural modifications and other project changes as required.
• Identify opportunities for prefabrication and produce the models and detailed drawings needed to support off-site assembly.
• Maintain accurate documentation and ensure work meets applicable quality, building code, and safety requirements.

About You

You will be an experienced BIM/CAD professional with a strong background in electrical construction. You will combine technical expertise with excellent coordination, communication, and organizational skills, and be comfortable managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Essential Requirements

• A minimum of five years' experience in CAD drafting and coordination, ideally within electrical construction.
• Demonstrated experience coordinating electrical construction projects using multiple design and modelling platforms.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, including electrical panel coordination, lighting layouts, and switchgear arrangements.
• Experience with electrical design and the preparation of design development and construction documentation.
• Practical understanding of construction coordination, clash detection, and resolving design conflicts.
• Familiarity with applicable building codes and construction safety regulations.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a strong customer service mindset.
• Strong organizational and documentation skills, with excellent attention to detail.
• The ability to manage competing priorities, meet tight deadlines, and maintain high standards of accuracy.
• A proactive, self-motivated approach, with the ability to work collaboratively and independently.
• Flexibility to accommodate project schedules and on-site requirements.

Technical Skills and Software Experience

You should have demonstrated proficiency with the following software:

• AutoCAD MEP
• Autodesk Revit MEP
• Autodesk Navisworks
• Bluebeam Revu
• Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Familiarity with Autodesk Construction Cloud (formerly Autodesk 360) and Trimble Point Creator is also desirable.
