Job summary

Oaktree Capital Management, L.P. seeks a Senior AVP/Associate to design and maintain ABF Power BI environments within Fabric, focusing on collateral performance, credit metrics, and fund reporting. Qualifications

• 4 to 8+ years of experience in data analytics and BI development on cloud platforms.
• Exposure to alternative investments required; asset-based finance, structured credit, or private credit experience strongly preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Fabric for developing data pipelines, dataflows, Lakehouse, and data warehouse solutions.
• Strong Power BI development skills, including DAX, Power Query (M), semantic modeling, and paginated reports.
• Experience with SQL and SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) for querying, data modeling, and performance optimization.
• Proficiency in Python for data analysis, automation, and notebook-based development.
• Hands-on experience with PySpark for distributed data processing within Fabric, Databricks, or Synapse Spark environments.
• Working knowledge of the broader Azure data stack, including Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Lake Storage, and Azure DevOps.
• Understanding of data governance, reporting standards, and compliance frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Build, extend, and maintain the ABF Power BI environment within the established architecture, with a focus on collateral performance, credit metrics, exposure analysis, and fund-level reporting.
• Implement and evolve Power BI solutions in Microsoft Fabric using a template-based, reusable approach.
• Partner with the ABF deal team to understand dashboard requirements and iterate based on live feedback.
• Design BI visuals with consistent navigation, titles, footnotes, and Oaktree branding across dashboards.
• Write efficient SQL queries, DAX measures, and Power Query scripts to support analyses and recurring deliverables.
• Develop PySpark notebooks for data transformation and large-scale processing in Fabric and Azure environments.
• Build Fabric dataflows, pipelines, and Azure-based data engineering workflows to support scalable data solutions.
• Design semantic model security including Row-Level and Object-Level Security to protect sensitive data.
• Ensure data integrity across reporting platforms with clear naming and documentation.
• Contribute to BI strategy and governance with the R&R team, balancing scalability and maintainability.
