Reputable Alternative Investment Manager seeking a technically strong ABS / securitisation professional to partner closely with its Asset-Based Finance investment team, developing data and analytical solutions that directly inform investment underwriting, portfolio monitoring and deal-level decision-making. Role to be based in Manhattan/ LA 3 days per week.
The successful candidate will operate in close partnership with the ABF investment team, gaining direct exposure to how transactions are evaluated and monitored while building the analytical capabilities used by investors. It is particularly well suited to someone from the banking side of ABS or securitisation who wants to take their technical skillset closer to the investment process.
Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with investment professionals and origination teams to understand transactions, underlying collateral and the analytical questions driving investment and portfolio decisions.
- Develop and enhance intuitive dashboards and analytical tools that give investors clear visibility into collateral performance, credit trends, exposures and emerging risks.
- Use SQL, Python and modern BI technologies to manipulate, analyse and visualise complex datasets, building repeatable solutions that can be deployed across multiple transactions.
- Support the development of scalable data infrastructure and automated workflows across cloud-based data environments, including data transformation and distributed processing.
- Serve as a trusted analytical counterpart to the investment team, translating complex data into commercially relevant insights while maintaining rigorous standards around accuracy, governance and model integrity.
Key Skills & Qualifications
- 4-6+ years' experience within ABS, securitisation, structured finance, structured credit or asset-based finance, ideally gained within an investment bank, markets business or team closely aligned to transactions.
- Strong understanding of securitised products, collateral analysis, transaction structures and the factors that drive asset and portfolio performance.
- Advanced analytical and programming capabilities, particularly SQL and Python, alongside experience with Power BI, Tableau or another enterprise BI platform.
- Exposure to modern cloud data technologies and data engineering environments such as Microsoft Fabric, Azure, Databricks, Spark or comparable platforms.
- Strong academic background in a quantitative discipline, coupled with the communication skills and commercial judgement to work directly with senior investment professionals and challenge or refine analytical requirements where necessary.
