Job Title: Senior BI Engineer

Location: Remote (U.S. only)

Salary: $145,000 - $170,000 (base and total compensation)

Job Description:

This is a unique opportunity to work on impactful healthcare data tools that support underserved populations while building scalable solutions used across state agencies. A healthcare analytics company that is seeking a Senior BI Engineer to join their internal Analytics Engineering team. This fully remote role focuses on building internal, product-driven tools that enable users to conduct self-service analytics-no client-facing work or custom reporting involved.

You'll be part of a highly technical, agile team with visibility into product decisions, contributing directly to data architecture and solution design. The work centers around a shared data model used across all customers, primarily involving Medicaid data.

Key Responsibilities:

• Write advanced SQL for backend logic and user experience (30%)
• Collaborate with internal users to understand needs (30%)
• Analyze, research, and iterate on product features (40%)
• Design data visualizations and contribute to UI development
• Debug, support, and enhance internal tools
• Participate in full SDLC, from problem identification to long-term maintenance

Qualifications:

• 7-8 years in BI, analytics engineering, or data engineering
• 3+ years working with healthcare data (claims, billing, EHR, gov agencies)
• Advanced SQL skills (Postgres )
• Experience with a scripting (Python, Bash, PowerShell, or Go)
• Strong communicator with a builder mindset
• Comfortable in fast-paced, agile environments with minimal documentation
