Senior BI Developer: Power BI & Azure Data Platform

Job summary

RPMGlobal is seeking a skilled BI Developer to transform data into actionable insights within an Azure-based data platform. You will build and maintain Power BI reports and dashboards, manage data models and pipelines, and collaborate with stakeholders to translate business needs into scalable solutions.

The role covers full BI lifecycle from requirements through deployment, with emphasis on data quality, documentation, and user enablement. Domestic travel up to 10% may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, IS, CS, data analytics, or related field.
• 5+ years of BI Developer or analytics experience.
• Strong SQL writing and optimization skills.
• Extensive Power BI experience with semantic models, DAX, and security/governance.
• Experience with Microsoft Azure services (Synapse, Fabric, Data Factory).
• Knowledge of dimensional data modeling, data warehousing, and ETL/ELT.
• Experience in data analysis to identify gaps and requirements.
• Ability to create wireframes, KPI dashboards, and data storytelling.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Experience with AI is a plus.
• Strong documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Participate in all phases of BI initiatives from requirements to deployment.
• Extract, transform, and analyze data from multiple sources using SQL.
• Translate business needs into BI designs with wireframes and mocks.
• Design and maintain data models and pipelines for reporting needs.
• Create Power BI reports and dashboards for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Perform data validation and QA to ensure accuracy.
• Develop documentation for data definitions, mappings, and dashboards.
• Support UAT and ensure solutions meet requirements.
• Present insights to stakeholders in visual and written formats.
• Respond to ad-hoc reporting requests and manage priorities.
