Job summary

RPMGlobal is seeking a skilled BI Developer to transform data into actionable insights within an Azure-based data platform. You will build and maintain Power BI reports and dashboards, manage data models and pipelines, and collaborate with stakeholders to translate business needs into scalable solutions.

The role covers full BI lifecycle from requirements through deployment, with emphasis on data quality, documentation, and user enablement. Domestic travel up to 10% may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, IS, CS, data analytics, or related field.
• 5+ years of BI Developer or analytics experience.
• Strong SQL writing and optimization skills.
• Extensive Power BI experience with semantic models, DAX, and security/governance.
• Experience with Microsoft Azure services (Synapse, Fabric, Data Factory).
• Knowledge of dimensional data modeling, data warehousing, and ETL/ELT.
• Experience in data analysis to identify gaps and requirements.
• Ability to create wireframes, KPI dashboards, and data storytelling.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Experience with AI is a plus.
• Strong documentation skills.

Job Title: BI Developer

Compensation Range | 125,000 - 135,000/yr

POSITION SUMMARY

The Business Intelligence (BI) Developer is responsible for transforming data into actionable insights that drive business value and support data-driven decision-making across the organization. This role supports the full lifecycle of BI initiatives—from requirements gathering and data analysis to solution design, development, testing, deployment, and user enablement. The BI Developer will build and maintain enterprise-grade data platforms and Power BI reports & dashboards within an Azure-based data platform.

GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Participate in all phases of BI initiatives, including requirements gathering, design, development, testing, deployment, and ongoing support.
• Extract, transform, and analyze data from multiple sources using SQL and other data query tools.
• Translate business requirements into BI solution designs, including wireframes and mockups.
• Design, develop, and maintain data models and data pipelines to ensure reporting and analytical needs are met.
• Design, develop, and maintain interactive Power BI reports and dashboards that clearly communicate complex metrics to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Perform data validation, reconciliation, and quality assurance testing to ensure accuracy, reliability, and consistency of BI deliverables.
• Develop and maintain documentation, including data definitions, mappings, transformations, dashboard logic, and user guides.
• Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and ensure solutions meet business requirements and usability standards.
• Present insights and findings to stakeholders in clear, actionable formats (visual, written, and verbal).
• Respond to ad-hoc reporting and data analysis requests from business users.
• Work independently with minimal supervision while managing assigned tasks and priorities effectively.

Travel up to 10% domestically, as required.

Skills & QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in business, Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Analytics, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience as a BI Developer or in a similar analytics role.
• Strong proficiency in SQL, including the ability to write and optimize complex queries.
• 5+ years of strong hands-on experience developing solutions using Power BI including Semantic models, DAX, dimensional/star-schema modeling, Power Query, performance tuning, RLS, incremental refresh, Direct Query/composite model, workspaces/apps, and Power BI security/governance.
• Experience working with Microsoft Azure and related services, including Azure Synapse, Fabric, Azure Data Factory, and PySpark.
• Good Understanding of data modeling concepts including dimensional modeling. data warehousing, Data Lake and ETL/ELT processes,
• Demonstrated experience with data analysis to identify gaps, issues, and data requirement
• Experience with wireframing solutions, KPI development, and data storytelling techniques.
• Hands-on experience with data validation, testing, and reconciliation processes.
• Exposure to newer technologies like Artificial Intelligence will be a plus.
• Proven ability to create clear and comprehensive documentation, including business requirements, transformations, test cases, and user guides.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams.
• Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences clearly and effectively.
• High attention to detail and a strong commitment to data accuracy and quality.
• Experience in the pharmaceutical or regulated industry is preferred
