Job summary

ZT Systems is seeking a Data Engineer to own data flow from manufacturing and business systems to dashboards and reports. You will map data lineage end to end, protect integrity of key metrics, and support SOX compliance as a public company.

You will bridge IT and business units, design pipelines, and collaborate with Finance, Operations, and Supply Chain to translate processes into reliable data solutions, using Jira and Git for project and version-control work.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of experience in data engineering, BI, or a related role.
• Strong proficiency in Python and pandas for data processing and transformation.
• Advanced SQL skills, including complex queries, performance tuning, and data modeling.
• Experience with Git for version control and collaborative development.
• Experience using Jira for agile project and task management.
• Solid understanding of data lineage, data governance, and data quality practices.
• Familiarity with SOX controls as they apply to data and financial reporting.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work across technical and non-technical teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain data pipelines from source systems into reporting-ready datasets.
• Document and maintain data lineage from source systems through transformations to dashboards and reports.
• Ensure the accuracy, consistency, and usability of key business metrics; implement validation checks and reconciliations.
• Build and maintain SOX-compliant data processes, including change management, access controls, audit trails, and documentation.
• Collaborate with IT, Finance, Operations, and Supply Chain to translate business processes into reliable data solutions.
• Clarify data definitions and resolve data quality issues between technical and business teams.
• Manage work via Jira and follow Git version-control practices.
