Job summary

Sensient Technologies seeks a Senior Applications Scientist I to turn creative beverage ideas into commercial products. You will lead beverage development for foodservice and away-from-home applications, collaborate with sales and production, and guide junior scientists in a fast-paced lab.

You will manage multiple projects, operate analytical equipment, and communicate technical insights to customers. Occasional travel may be required.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Food Science, Biology, Chemistry or similar field.
• At least 10 years experience in a laboratory, beverage development.
• Hands-on knowledge of beverage formulation, flavors, and ingredients.

Responsibilities

• Manage projects and drive new beverage development for foodservice and away-from-home applications.
• Guide junior scientists, technicians, and interns on projects.
• Lead customer workshops, sensory panels, pilot plant runs, and plant visits.
• Collaborate with sales, product management, and plant teams; travel to customer sites as needed.
• Operate, calibrate, and interpret bench-top and analytical laboratory equipment.
• Maintain documentation and ensure compliance with lab protocols.

Education

BS degree in Food Science, Biology, Chemistry or similar field
